I started my career with Enterprise in September 2014 as a Management Trainee. I came straight out of college after studying Voice and Dance’- something you typically might not expect from an employee at Enterprise. I decided to join the company because they are known for looking after not only their customers but also their employees, and it seemed like such a fun and friendly place to work!
The other reason, and probably the main reason, why I wanted to work at Enterprise was because they only promote from within. This gave me the ambition to climb the ladder as quickly as possible while challenging myself on a daily basis, as I knew I never had to worry about someone coming from the outside in to take my next promotion. It was only six months after joining the business that I managed to complete and pass the Management Qualification interview (MQi) – way ahead of the nine-month guideline I had been given. With this, I was promoted to a Management Assistant and within a short period of just a couple of weeks, I managed to once again get promoted to Assistant Branch Manager of Dublin Airport Location, the largest location in Ireland.
My progression was extremely quick and I surprised myself at how well I adjusted to Enterprise. I have a very outgoing and bubbly personality which fits well within the team and ensures we have a lot of fun on a day-to-day basis. I love the team I work with, even when we are competing in sales competitions for €100 vouchers and Ed Sheeran tickets (which as you can imagine gets competitive at the best of times). But no matter what happens everyone is recognised for their hard work. There are also always social events to go to, which gives me the opportunity to meet other employees from branches all over Ireland.
If you are looking for a career, not just a job, but a career in which you can control and most importantly progress as quick as you like, I would choose Enterprise. Not in a million years did I see myself working as an Assistant Manager after doing a music degree in college, but everything is possible for me now. I have learned about this business from the ground up and look forward to climbing the ranks and becoming a Branch Manager of my own branch very soon!
