My placement opened the doors to the whole business

As a placement student at Enterprise you’ll enjoy the same responsibility and benefits as permanent employees. This means access to all areas of the business, including senior management. You’ll also receive the same training and promotion opportunities, so if you decide to come back after you leave University, you might join as an assistant branch manager.

I first heard about the Management Trainee Placement Programme whilst studying at the University of Huddersfield where they advised me about the scheme and why I should apply. Once my friends had told me that Enterprise offered a great graduate scheme where you can progress to Management level within a year, I was sold on the idea and decided to apply.

My placement at Enterprise fulfilled all of my expectations. I quickly learnt that as a placement student you take on the same responsibilities as those on the graduate programme, so you get hands-on experience in sales, marketing, customer service, business management as well as administrative support. You also get to enjoy the same benefits: pay, performance bonuses, incentives and employee referral awards.

One of the best features of Enterprise’s training programme is the 12-month training file you receive on the first day you join. The training programme includes four stages which employees aim to complete within one year so they can be promoted. Each stage involves administrative elements such as completing and closing contracts, taking on new deals, chasing extensions and payments. It also involves marketing, visiting accounts, having mentoring lunches with Heads of Departments and meeting sales targets.

I think that Enterprise is a great company to work for as there is so much to learn. Each employee started on the Graduate Management Trainee programme which means that there is always someone there who can offer you the best advice. Enterprise also really pushes for employee progression; I have had many mentoring meetings with Account Managers, the Business Manager, Human Resources and Senior Management, all were a great opportunity to discover what business area I would like to venture into in the future. I have really enjoyed my time at Enterprise and would strongly recommend others to apply for a placement or graduate job to experience it for themselves!
